Is Cut3D suitable for pocketing and drilling?

No, Cut3D is specifically intended to carve (toolpath) 3D Designs created in a 3D modeling program and can create three types of toolpaths to support this:

  • 3D Roughing to quickly remove the bulk of the waste material from a 3D Model.
  • 3D Finishing to create a smooth carved surface that follows the 3D Model.
  • Cutout to allow the finished carving to be cutout with a smooth outer edge.

However, these toolpaths can be saved directly from Cut3D using the appropriate Post Processer for your CNC machine or they can be imported into Aspire, VCarve Pro or Cut2D and combined with pocketing and drilling toolpaths in those programs.
