Upgrade from Aspire 2/3/4 to 8.5

Version 8.5 of Aspire includes significant enhancements and completely new features across all areas of the product. These were added both with the original release of V8 and the subsequent update of V8.5.

The new versions added a further 190 models ($1500 value) to the clip art included with the program, 40 of which are specifically designed to work with the new Create Texture Area tool.

Powerful new drawing tools like the Vector Texture function make it easy to create wave based textured panels and realistic grain backgrounds. Drawing vectors has also been made more efficient with additional layout options, snapping, filleting of any pair of lines (arcs or curves) and in addition you can trim many vectors at once to a boundary shape. SVG files can now also be used as a format to import vectors into the software.

To make 3D layout simpler and more intuitive you can now access component editing functions from directly in the 3D view. When scaling, heights of components can now be fixed along with the ability to add base-height to Levels, making it easier to adjust foreground/background layouts. There are also improvements to sculpting and smoothing for 3D shapes and an attractive shadow shading option to further enhance the rendering of the 3D models. The new Create Texture Area tool lets you build tiled 3D textures from a “seed” component; this powerful function can be used for sign backgrounds or decorative architectural panels amongst other applications.

For the toolpath side of the program there are additions to many of the strategies to increase flexibility and finish quality, such as Last Pass Allowance on Profiling, Pass Depth control for Pocketing, new boundary selection modes for 3D models and many other additions including the ability to merge toolpaths using the same tool into a single program. A very powerful new Moulding Toolpath strategy has also been added to make cutting constant cross section profiles, arches and frames more efficient while also dramatically improving their finished surface.

This is just a selection of the new features; a comprehensive list along with videos demonstrating them can be seen on the following page:
